Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks conventional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited practices and terrifying transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana in addition to multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime properties. The series previously featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
